And stop "Obeying in advance!" Call out the lies - strongly and publicly. Push better ideas, shoot down bad ones with expert facts. Push back, resist, vote down, spotlight, sue, scream, howl, get mad!

I'd suggest you call your senators, but I'm afraid they are a waste. How has Gillebrand been this week?

This is no time to ‘reach across the aisle. The maga poison has permeated our gvmt too deeply as too many amerikans sat home ignoring all the blatherings of the orange hiTLer. HE TOLD US WHAT HE WOULD DO IN PLAIN ENGLISH. And you didn’t believe him. I’m sickened by the toadying members of the house and senate are slathering in the muckraker. Hurry up midterms, when retribution will be ours again. Ta ta

Agreed... but note that Trump got about a million more votes than in 2020. Democrats got 7 million LESS. ALL of that shortfall came from minorities and women.... the very part of the Democratic base that is being hurt the most by Republican majorities. ACLU helped destroy democracy by backing EVERY court case over decades (including Citizens United) that killed off more than a century of restrictions on bribes... er.. "donations" from rich folks and corporations on grounds that corporations are people and money is speech. I see major media criticizing Fauci and other innocents for taking preemptive pardons. Union workers voted for Trump 2 to 1!!!

The NYT and Washington Post call refugees "illegal" if they cross the border and go to a border patrol officer to turn themselves in, in full compliance with longstanding law. But the NUMBER we're trying to accommodate is greater in absolute terms and in percent of existing population than even the previous peak around 1900.... and we helped cause that mess with America First and Europe First economic warfare.

The job of fixing this mess goes 'way beyond telling Dems to just be obstructionists, or that it is OK that everyone gets to be protected by DEI on college campuses except American Jews.

SET PRIORITIES! COMMUNICATE!! IN ENGLISH!!!

What are we FOR? Then and only then can we explain what we are AGAINST.

There is a massive attack on every part of the executive branch right now. This is a Pearl Harbor. If the Democrats don't show spine now, the very structure of our governmental apparatus will be destroyed. They may be too compromised by their own deals with wealthy and corporate supporters, in which case the battle is over. Most of what you're referring to are larger issues that have to be deat with eventually. I agree that clear priorities, communications, messaging are essential, but all of that depends on resolve. Without resolve, game over. The fascists smell blood and suspect that they can roll over the clueless Dems... It's a blitzkrieg.

I've been hollering the same point for weeks...seems they are indeed deaf. Many thanks for making your post, and saying it clearly. No more apologists. No more "the system will handle it...it always has". I don't believe I'm stretching the point to seriously analogize Trump with Hitler. Malcolm Nance suggested aligning with #DEFIANCE. More than just words, though...we have to understand that our mission is to preserve our democratic republic. Then, to remember that it's "mission first", and not "party always."

Totally agree. I read some pages of project 2025. It's a total blueprint for destruction. This past week is only a small part of what they intend to do to us.
