Don’t have any expectations of change for abbott. He only has hate in his body and soul. The texas legislature meets again this month. He will continue to starve our public schools so he can get his vouchers. Those vouchers will never be enough money to cover private school tuition. There is rainy day fund of billions of dollars that he will use to do more harm to the people in this state including using a ranch to house drumpf’s round-up of good and decent people. He is up for re-election in 2026 as well as his good buddy and also criminal, paxton. Time to get rid of both of them, but I am not optimistic. But that has not stopped me from trying to get rid of them, for the betterment of the state in which I live but no longer love.

Trump should not be invited to Jimmy Carters funeral. Carter was the epitome of integrity, honor & intelligence. The exact opposite of everything about Trump. Trump would desecrate the sacred ceremony.

I can hear Rosalynn's sweet voice sincerely chiding Gov. Abbott until Jimmy piped up. May they rest in peace...and I hope that the Gov does better in 2025 in spite of his past performance

I’d love it if she could share that message with more than a few buffoons currently, or soon to be, in leadership… But one would also require the capacity for quiet discernment to receive and act on that message. A capacity equally lacking as is their humanity…..

sighs… what we’ve lost in their passing….

I wonder if she'll include a peanut-butter sandwich since that was a family favorite in the Carer house.

Well, and not our place to judge the sentence, as long as it is long and painful…

Oooops! My attempts at following Jesus slipped Very Badly here. Alas, I fear I’ll have lots of opportunities in the coming 4 years to improve myself.

Wow there are so many theological errors in this one post it is amazing.

So now our job on earth is to make people happy? Didn’t know that

You'll have to check with Rosalynn on that.

Not that. We start with making them less miserable if we can, and doing our absolute best not to increase their burdens.

Of course β€œlove your neighbor as yourself” presupposes that you actually love yourself. Often not true.

No. Our job on earth is to NOT be an asshole! A lot of folks would be happy if Abbutt (and Paxton) just did that much.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. - 2 Timothy 4:7
